These eggs come from Paint Ameraucana hens housed with Chocolate Ameraucana roosters. This combination produces sex-linked chicks, meaning they can be gendered at hatch! Female chicks will hatch Chocolate, Mauve, Chocolate Paint and/or Mauve Paint, while males will hatch non-Chocolate colors (Solid Black, Blue or Standard Black Paint). Since this is still a project color of Ameraucana there may be some variation in egg color and size.
 
Paint pairings do not breed true, and typically result in 50% paint chicks with the remaining 50% hatching solid colors (black, blue or white). Your actually ratio may vary depending on the size of the hatch.
